Heavy Pencil is One

Posted by: admin In: Creative Review

Heavy Pencil, the ICA’s monthly drawing event, is one year old next month. And they’re having a free party to celebrate where the likes of Andrew Rae, Ian Stevenson and Anthony Burrill will be drawing, live, for your pleasure…

The party is on October 1 at the ICA theatre and bar (full address below). There will also be a live performance from band, Django Django, starting at 8pm.

Other illustrators taking part in the birthday event include Malcolm Goldie, The Student Forum and Luke Best from the Peepshow Collective.

A one-off, limited edition album of 7″ postcards by some of this esteemed list of scrawlers will also be available to buy for £10 from the ICA bookshop on the night. Tthe pack also includes a CD featuring music by the various illustrators, musicians and DJs who have played at Heavy Pencil. Talented chaps all.

ICA, The Mall, London, SW1. Call +44 (0)20 7930 3647 for tickets and more info.

The freaky dungaree’d character, above, was drawn by Ian Stevenson
